Is it possible to quit smoking through online methods, such as Zoom, Skype, or phone sessions?

The answer is a resounding yes. There have been misconceptions surrounding the effectiveness of online hypnosis, with some believing that being physically present with a hypnotherapist is necessary for successful results. However, this is far from the truth, as online sessions are just as effective as in-person sessions. Here's why:

The key to effective hypnosis is being attentive to the incoming information. This attention is established through a relaxation technique known as hypnotic induction. In our daily lives, we are constantly influenced by various factors, whether it's browsing through social media, clicking on ads or videos, and making purchases based on these influences. This is essentially a form of hypnosis, and it works just as effectively online without the need for physical presence. Hypnosis is, at its core, a form of influence.

When opting for smoking cessation hypnotherapy through phone or Zoom, the hypnotherapist will spend time with you before the actual hypnosis session. This pre-session conversation helps them understand the nature of your smoking habit, your language patterns, and beliefs, which in turn allows them to create a tailored hypnotic program to help you quit smoking. This conversation can take place effectively online, just as it would in person.

During the hypnosis session, your eyes are closed, and visual contact with the hypnotherapist is unnecessary. All that is required is attentive listening, which can easily be accomplished through a phone call or Zoom session, provided you have a stable internet connection. Using earphones can enhance the sound quality and overall experience.

How many hypnosis sessions are typically needed to quit smoking?

On average, hypnotherapists offer two sessions for smoking cessation, while some follow a three-session protocol. However, it is important to note that becoming a non-smoker can often be achieved in just one session. The number of sessions may vary depending on individual needs and preferences.

The difference between a two or three-session program and a one-session program lies primarily in the price and pace. A multi-session program may cost more since it involves additional preparation, teaching techniques, and post-integration sessions. This slower pace can be appealing to some clients who appreciate the extra attention and support. However, if you prefer a more economical approach and faster results, a one-session program could be the ideal choice.

In my own smoking cessation program, I offer a one-session protocol that lasts for about an hour. An overwhelming majority, 90% of my clients, become non-smokers after just one session. Occasionally, a follow-up reinforcement session lasting 45 minutes may be needed, but this is a rare occurrence.

Overall, online hypnosis for smoking cessation is a highly effective and convenient method, making it possible for people to break free from their smoking habits from the comfort of their own space, while still benefiting from the expertise of a qualified hypnotherapist.
